What an amazing job we did with our first attempt at "Talking Bags."
This activity takes the place of "Show and Tell." It is a much more specifically focused activity which is designed to build our speaking and listening skills.
We start with:
Have a listen to Tom's first attempt. Congratulations to Tom and his family for getting him so well prepared for this activity.
Ashley spoke very well about her trip to Broome and the lovely shell she has to remind herself of the trip.
Noah was flooded by the questions his photo of a real transformer raised.
Will was very well prepared and spoke beautifully about the wonderful times he has at Little Aths.
The clowns were great, we were amazed by the strong man and his baritone voice, and we just loved Sid the serpent.
The clowns and the strong man all played different roles. We really liked their colourful and clever costumes.
This is the forth year we have had Oz Opera visit our school. Thanks so much Miss Wills for inviting them to Wangaratta West. We do hope that they will come again next year!

If there is one thing we really know all about in Prep it's trouble, - being in trouble ourselves or knowing someone who is. We chose this topic to write about today during writing time.
It seems that untidy rooms and issues with toys rank highly as causes for troubles among our group of Preps.
What would we ever do without those wonderful brothers and sisters to fight with and to give us so much to write about.
Shakyra has done a particularly good job of keeping eye contact with you the audience as she read her story.
Jessie had a spot of trouble with her brother telling her Mum about what she had done.
Tomomi Kagawa is teaching us many of our new words through songs. We do hope that you enjoyed the snapshots we have shown you of some of the songs we have learned to sing so far.
Conner used great observation skills to notice that one track remained still, while the other rolled round to make the digger turn.
It was fun to see the digger scraping up the dirt, a little sad to see it take away the sides of our sandpit, and ever so exciting when it knocked down the bottlebrush trees just outside our building! We could smell the trees as they were being squashed by the digger. We then went back into the classroom and had such an excited conversation about what we had seen. We learned so many new words from each other to describe the sights, smells and sounds that we had just experienced.
Keep your eye on this spot as we share with you our excitement at the building of our new school.
Mrs Krake recorded some of us as we read our stories to the rest of the class in share time. As you can see we are getting to be amazing little writers and we are quite proud of our efforts.
Keep an eye on this spot to celebrate with us when you see how we grow as little learners.
