Science

Good scientists look at something and ask themselves, "I wonder what would happen if....?" Next they make a prediction about what could happen. They do an experiment to check what really happens. Finally they share what they have now learnt.

We are looking at what changes are brought about through heating, cooling, and/or mixing.

We have made butter from cream and slime from cornflour and water.

Today we looked at dissolving things in water. We dissolved sugar in water, and found that it dissolved quicker and better in hot water than cold water.

In Prep we are becoming very good little scientists.

We knew that sand would not dissolve in cold water, but some of us thought it might dissolve in hot water.

We were quite surprised to discover that it did not dissolve at all!

Do keep asking us what other experiments we have been doing at school.
